Deuteronomy 32-34, Psalm 91

And we have reached the end of Deuteronomy....the Torah, the Pentatuch.  Moses is thought to be one of the greatest prophets ever as stated in 34: 10-12. He is the only prophet that the Lord knew face to face.  The Lord buried Moses Himself. (34:6)  Scholars speculate that it is because the Lord knew the way the people loved idols, and God didn't want the Israelites to worship Moses' bones.  The cross reference to Jude 1:9 is pretty cool, because it shows that Michael the Archangel disputes the devil about the body of Moses!  Moses was 120 years old when he died.....40 years in Egypt....remember how long ago we read about that baby in the basket floating down the Nile....40 years in preparation until the Lord called him to deliver His people...and of course the 40 years Moses spent in the wilderness.  Remember that when God repeats something, we are to take notice and this 40 year period is repeated.    Interesting that we are in Lent right now....a 40 day period of reflection....the spirit of the Lord moves onto Joshua.....
