Deuteronomy 30-31

and yet again......blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience and it is all about life and death....and the Lord wants you to pick LIFE......
Moses is preparing for the change in leadership to Joshua.....he repeats..."Do not be afraid......God wil never leave you nor forsake you"......
Then God predicts Israel's rebellion......he gives the people freewill, but at the same time he KNOWS what the people will pick....can you even get your head around that concept???  Then the Lord gives him a song for history..it is a witness for God against them.....God knows that his chosen people will worship idols and this song will testify against them......the word of God was spread differently then...there was no Bible...so the law was read or sung to them...they had to memorize a lot more...then there was no excuse for not being exposed to the law.  We'll read the words of the song tomorrow....

  1. These chapters are so interesting. In 30:3 God says that if the people repent, He will return them to the Promised Land from being scattered all over the earth. My Bible, which was my father's, was published in 1952 as a second edition to the 1948 first edition. The footnote reads that "it is in the future" that the Israelites would be returned. I think this promise was fulfilled in 1948. Mercifully, the Jews were returned from Germany, Russia, France, Turkey, Spain, etc. to Israel. Is this correct?
