1 Samuel 28-31; Psalm 18

And we finish 1 Samuel....out of desperation, Saul goes to a witch in Endor....he is afraid of the Philistines.....God forbade use of these "dark arts", because the source of their power was not Him, but the devil......somehow, Samuel comes vfm from the dead (I'm thinking that the medium didn't do it, but God allowed it somehow). Samuel tells Saul that he will die, along with his sons.

Achish trusts David to fight Israel, but his Philistine comrades aren't having it....they remember the Goliath incident.....God's plan is to have David separate from the Philistines....David returns to Ziklag and finds his camp brned and his wives taken captive by the Amalekites....David asks for the ephod which contains the Urimm and asks God 's will for his next steps (there is the difference between David and Saul)and the Lord grants David victory in war...he shares the plunder.

As Samuel said....Sauls's sons are killed. Saul is injured and he throws himself on his sword.....the way has been cleared for David to claim his role as king.

Psalm 18 is full of thankfulness and praise from David to God....
