Leviticus 14-15

The fun continues with cleansing....it seems like God is doing the Health 101......remember when you had Health in Middle School and all the uncomfortable giggles when semen and discharge was mentioned?   All this makes us uncomfortable, but the Lord cares for His people and wants them HEALTHY.....they need to be separate from the pagans.    The pagans had temple prostitutes and did a lot of things with sex that the Lord did not want for His people.......sex is not unclean if it is a special relationship between husband and wife.........can you envision the poor little hairless men with no eyebrows?   Wonder if it applied to women, too?  Surely women weren't excluded from skin diseases.

Then we move to mildew, which we can certainly relate, living at the beach......poor things didn't have any Tilex....

  4. The first part of Chapter 14 is interesting. God told Moses that the priests should take two birds and kill one, splashing the other in the blood of the slain bird then let loose the live bird in the open field so that the leper would see it fly away and be cleansed. That was a miracle and calls forth Christ dying on the cross then rising from the dead to save us from our sins. But also the passage seems to call for faith on the part of Moses, the priests, the leper and all God's people. Surety in the word of the Lord.
