....and so Aaron, a great big brother, will team up with his little brother Moses and be a mouthpiece to Pharaoh for him. God will do signs and wonders and will harden Pharaoh's heart. This is a really hard thing for some people to understand. Why would God do this...did Pharoah have a chance? Remember that Pharaoh receives many warnings. God wants all his children to be saved...he doesn't want anyone to perish. But also remember that God knows peoples' hearts. After repeated warnings, Pharaoh still refused to obey God. He was stubborn. Sometimes being stubborn blinds us to the truth. It is almost as if God finally says, "OK Dude, have it your way". Then Pharaoh's heart was permanently hardened.
Now, the Egyptians had their own sorcerers and magic. They worshipped many gods. They could replicate some of the wonders God did, but they could not stop any of it! Finally, as the plagues continue, even they said that "this is of the finger of God". Nothing touches the Isrealites in Goshen.
The hail stops and clearly the Pharaoh has not repented, because he re-nigs on his promise to Let the People Go.....from a Bloody Nile to hail......tune in for Locusts tomorrow......
Well, this is essentially a double post because I thought I didn't save the first one! Oh well, you get a picture this time....
