Here are some facts about the book of Job:
a) it is the first book of poetry in the Bible
b) it is in didactic form, which means it teaches and it is for reasoning.
c) We don't know who actually wrote the book of Job
d) Some believe it was actually the first book of the Bible that was written...but most agree that it was written during the Patriarch's (Abraham, Issac, Essau) time.
e) some scholars speculate that Job was a judge because of his position in the town in Chapter 29
So, do you think that Job was bragging about being righteous in Chapter 31, or do you feel like it is just an account to his friends proving that he hadn't sinned?
I love the part in verse 33 where he says
If I have concealed my sin as men do
by hiding my guilt in my heart
because I so feared the crowd.....
How many of us have done that? Isn't that what we do?
That's a Man of War jelly fish.....do you feel like Leviticus is DEEP.....lots of rules. Lots of Law....God is teaching the people how to approach him....Hang in there....
Look what comes up from the depths of the sea.

I think he he just standing up for himself for the accusations against him. He knows he has followed the law of God, and does defends himself in this. I do not think he is bragging, but trying to defend himself. he has sinned, as all mankind has, but he has not led a life of sin. He has tried to do what is right and true by God, and knows God not only watches our thoughts, but also our actions.

kinda sounds like something from our book we are reading......if we hide our secrets in our heart, because of being afraid of what others will think.......
I thought the same thing about our "tell me everything" book!
