The account continues of what we have read with Assyria threatening Judah....the Lord provides a miracle and Sennacherib retreats and then is killed by two of his sons. We learn that God actually tested Hezekiah to know everything that was in his heart....he had succeeded in everything he undertook, but pride got in the way....even with God's faithful.
We read more about Manasseh (keep in mind that the Northern kingdom had been completely destroyed by this time)....the Lord punishes Manasseh and the king of Assyria actually put a hook in his nose, bound him with bronze shackles and took him to Babylon......Manasseh humbles himself and prayed and God brought him back to Jerusalem.....Manasseh knew that the Lord is God.....Manasseh cleared all the evil worship from the kingdom....interesting that this account wasn't in Chronicles, huh? Amon was evil, was assassinated and Josiah took his place....
