Hosea 1-7

We meet Hosea....you have seen how sometimes God requires prophets to do what we think is weird and act out stuff so the people can visualize (Isaiah preaching for 3 years naked to symbolize the embarrassment of the people that are shamed for example....just wait till Ezekiel...)...God tells Hosea to marry a woman who would not be faithful to him....Gomer represents Israel, the unfaithful....and Hosea represents God....Hosea means Jesus in Greek, which also means salvation...here we are in the Old Testament and salvation comes up....I am amazed at Romans 9:25, where the Apostle Paul quotes this scripture....
Jazreel means God scatters.
Lo-Ruhamah means not loved
Lo-Ammi means not my people
Can you tell who are Hosea's offspring and who are not?

Chapter 3 is amazing and talks about Hosea's reconciliation with his wife...God with Israel....Hosea buys back Gomer from slavery.........any parallels here?

Look at chapter 6....does verse 2 remind you of anyone?  Say, Christ?   These things are so that the people see!!!!!!  Everything in the Old Testament points to Christ...

Hosea is a prophet to the Northern kingdom....they will fall for their disobedience...again I challenge the chronological reading, because Isaiah and Micah came after Hosea, thought they were contemporaries...but I understand that scholar's opinions differ on dates....
