2 Kings 18:1-8; 2 Chronicles 29-31, Psalm 48

We have read about a lot of Kings and I'm sure they jumble up in your memory.   Here is one that you should let stand out...Hezekiah...the people had not heard the word of God for 200 years....Ahaz was Hezekiah's father and ended up nailing the temple doors shut.  Abijah was Hezekiah's mother, and she was the daughter of Zechariah the priest....so she got some scripture to Hezekiah!

Remember the bronze snake that Moses held up to heal the people that were snakebitten? (Numbers 21:9)  The people had even made that an idol.  Hezekiah had it destroyed.  Hezekiah got the proper order of priests and Levites to service the temple and prepared to celebrate Passover.  He sends a message inviting the whole kingdom....He was ridiculed.  Some humbled themselves..many in the crowd were not purified and ate the Passover, contrary to what was written.  Hezekiah begged forgiveness for them because they were seeking the Lord...I love this!!!  The Law is there for a reason...we should obey it...however sometimes the people come before the law and you will see Jesus demonstrating this in the New Testament.

The high places were cut down...so many Kings had neglected this.....the tithes to support the preists were reinstated....Judah is experiencing a revival.....Isreal, because of their choices, are defeated by foreign powers.
