The Chronicler moves to the lineage of Levi and we see some very familiar characters...The Kohath clan produced Moses, Aaron and Miriam....this was the time of the tabernacle....God was teaching about His laws and worship... By the time you get to verse 31, we are dealing with a progression of worship....David appoints musicians and we start to get music ministry...Solomon, David's son, will build a temple.....both the temple and the tabernacle are a shadow of what is currently in Heaven.....they are a pattern of what is in Heaven....the genealogy continues with the land where the Levites resided.....they were within existing tribes and the tribes were to be taking care of the priests since they could not own land.
The Chronicler will continue the genealogy with David ultimately at the center of it. He will be crowned King by the end of the chapter.
