Interesting to me that this book is positioned where it is....some people we have heard of...others we haven't....for example, we have not read about David's children yet....we. Haven't heard about Zerubbabel nor the exile he has returned from yet...
My NRSV Biblr has an interesting take...the Chronicler moves from names to distinctive regions....the genealogies of the sons of Israel express the core of the Chronicler's interest....Judah recieves first position and indeed this will be a major line with David and Jesus coming from this line. This is the key and points to our Savior....
