Psalm 3 was specifically written by David when he fled from his son Absalom. How would you feel if your own son wanted you dead so he could have the throne?
David knows that God is not against him....circumstances may be against him, but he can call to God for Sanctuary. David still wants just punishment.......Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked.....I might have to use that quote!
Psalm 4
David feels joy....he knows that God will listen to him no matter what.....verse 8, "I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety"...
Psalm 12
People lie and are deceitful. You can't trust them. They might want something from you....think how many times that David probably encoutered people using him to get something from his Kingship. You can trust the Lord. He is authentic.....what a contrast in this Psalm.
Psalm 13
David is feeling some distress....count how many time he used the words, "how long".....
Psalm 28
Who is your safety? This has been an ongoing theme in these Psalms.
Psalm 55
When someone close to you betrays you, it is human to feel devastated. Who cares if you are devastated? Who can you call on?
