David's song of praise is recorded because God delivered him from enemies...remember that this part isn't chronological...
chapter 23 are the last recorded words of David...note verse 5 in which David talks about the everlasting covenant that God made with him to have his descendents rule....Christ will come from this line.
David's Mighty Men are mentioned again.....we are closing out the book of Samuel very soon....
Psalm 57 shows what to do in times of trouble....David certainly saw his share of it....turn to the Lord.
