2 Samuel 10; 1 Chronicles; Psalm 20

remember the Ammonites? They were a result of the incest between Lot and his daughter in Genesis 19:30-38...The king died and David wanted to express sympathy to the son, Hanun....Hanun freaked out and thought David's forces were attacking.......Hanun rents help from the Arameans....Isrealites Are humiliated by having half their beards shaved off and their robes cut off from the waist down.......David goes in and saves the day.

Psalm 20 shows that David knows real power isn't just in weapons....his enemies had plenty of weapons and were defeated. David had God on his side.....this was the ultimate power.

  1. for some reason I could not post comment on another blog....but can here.....David sounds not only like a great king and leader, but a nice man also....I love how he heard of the son that became lame and met with him and left him land he should have and invited to always eat with king.....sounds like cool guy.... one thing it states in my bible is that meditation helps us to really listen to God and that David was a man after God's own heart and spent a great deal of time meditating.

David did not forget those who were kind to him....and always showed kindness

back..but these people did not believe he was gonna come as an act of kindness and another battle breaks out.....they seem to fight an awful lot in this time......and this shaving half the beard and cutting their robes....this is just weird....

    I just love psalm 20.....
