1 King 3-4; 2 Chronicles 1; Psalm 72

The kingdom is united under Solomon.....prosperous years.. God comes to Solomon and asks him what he desires (I hope I get one of those dreams) and Solomon wants wisdom, an unselfish gift so he can rule.  God was pleased and gave him wisdom and discernment along with great wealth...note  though, that Solomon marries Pharoah's daughter in a political alliance....will this lead to anything?   Stay tuned to hear about this developing trend...

Had you ever heard the story of the baby and the wise ruling of Solomon?  Strange that my Sunday School class never emphasized that the two women were prostitutes!!!! 
And isn't it interesting that prostitutes had an audience with the king?

Solomon was a botanist and patron of the arts...he was wiser than any other man...he wrote Proverbs, Ecclesiates and a few Psalms......note that this chapter is called Kings, so we will hear about more than just Solomon.

    yea...kinda like you....it would be cool to have God come to you in a dream like that......I think Soloomon showed great character in his wish......he wished for wisdom to help his people and not materialistic things........

    And the story of the two harlots......I do like how he handled that argument about the baby.....can you imagine....somebody's baby dying and taking yours.........
